Introduction:

When MDfishing.org originally went live on the web (about this same time last year) our plans were to create a portal style site that would serve the fishing community across Maryland and its surrounding states. Like many plans made in life we eventually realized that it wasn't going to work out. For those thinking about doing the same thing for a site of their own you may benefit from our experience. There were essentially two reasons why it wasn't working:

1. We didn't have enough time to devote to consistently creating new content.
2. There were already many other sites out there doing basically the same thing that we were trying to do.

The lesson learned here is that if someone else is already doing something then just enjoy the benefit of all of their hard work. All of this is leading up to our unique New Mission...
